Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center Introduces Evening IOP

Evening IOP offers structured support for mental health, addiction, and co-occurring challenges while helping clients stay connected to daily life

Healing does not always happen on a schedule that fits neatly into the middle of the day. For many adults, the need for mental health or addiction treatment is real, but so are the responsibilities they are carrying at work, at home, in school, and in everyday life. Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center’s new Evening Intensive Outpatient Program was created with that reality in mind.

The Evening IOP offers a structured, supportive path for adults who are ready for meaningful change and need care that fits into real life. Designed for those living in the community who need accountability, connection, and continued clinical support, the program creates space for healing without requiring clients to step away from everything they are trying to hold together.

When You Need Support, but Life Keeps Moving

Across the country, millions of adults are navigating mental health and substance use challenges while still trying to keep up with work, relationships, school, and the responsibilities of daily life. In 2024, 23.1% of U.S. adults experienced any mental illness, and 21.2 million adults were living with both a mental illness and substance use disorder. Yet many still do not receive care. Only 52.1% of adults with any mental illness received mental health treatment that year.

Here in Arizona, the need remains just as urgent. The state’s 2023 opioid overdose fatality rate was 25.6 per 100,000, with Maricopa County among the counties exceeding the statewide annual rate.

For many adults, the question is not whether treatment could help. It is whether treatment can fit within real life. Evening care offers a more realistic path for people who need structure, support, and a place to keep healing while continuing to show up for the life in front of them.

A Program Built for Real Life and Real Change

Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center’s Evening IOP is a 10-week, group-based program held from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is designed for adults who are stable enough for outpatient care but still benefit from a deeper level of support as they strengthen their recovery and emotional well-being.

The program blends experiential work, process-oriented discussion, and psychoeducation in a setting that is both clinically grounded and deeply human. Rather than treating recovery as something that happens apart from everyday life, our Evening IOP helps clients apply what they are learning in real time through their routines, relationships, and daily choices.

That approach reflects how we view healing at Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center: as a whole-person process shaped by self-discovery, skill building, relational repair, and the belief that recovery can open the door to a new relationship with yourself and the world around you.

The Structure of Evening IOP

The Evening IOP is structured around the eight dimensions of wellness, giving clients a clear framework for growth that reaches beyond symptom management alone.

Early sessions include topics such as gratitude and habits, social wellness and relationship to self, spiritual wellness, and environmental wellness. The goal is not just to help people get through the week. It is to help them strengthen the foundation underneath their lives, one step at a time.

This whole-person perspective is already central to our messaging and care model. We believe in healing across all dimensions of wellness, supporting clients not only clinically, but emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and practically as well.

Connection Is Central to the Program

One of the defining features of our Evening IOP is its emphasis on connection. We have always believed healing happens best in community, with authenticity, compassion, and fellowship at the center of the work. That spirit is especially important in an evening program designed for people who are trying to recover while still living in the middle of everyday life.

Group work in our Evening IOP is not just about showing up to sessions or receiving information. It is about having space to be honest, present, supported, and known. Through that process, clients strengthen emotional regulation, self-awareness, communication, and healthier relationships with both themselves and others.

For many people, that relational piece is where recovery begins to feel more possible. Healing becomes more sustainable when people do not feel like they are carrying it alone.

Guided by Compassion

Sprc Introduces Evening Iop With Liz Gori

That emphasis on connection is also reflected in the leadership of the program itself. Our Evening IOP is led by Liz Gori, LAC, a Licensed Associate Counselor whose background in both counseling and teaching shapes the way she leads the group process.

Liz brings a trauma-centered, relational approach to her work, helping clients build stronger connections with themselves and others while creating space for honesty, support, and personal growth. With experience in the recovery field and training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, she is passionate about empowering people to rewrite their stories and move forward with greater self-awareness and hope.

Expanding the Continuum of Care

Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center offers a full continuum of care for mental health, addiction, and co-occurring disorders, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programming. The addition of the Evening IOP expands those options for adults who need a flexible level of care that still offers meaningful structure and clinical depth.

This expansion reflects the heart of how we approach treatment: individualized support, evidence-based care, and a belief that people are more than their diagnosis. Our vision is not simply stabilization. It is a lasting, fulfilling recovery built around each person’s goals, values, and aspirations.

A New Way Forward in Scottsdale

For adults who need care outside of standard business hours, our Evening IOP offers a new way forward. It is a structured program for people who are ready to do meaningful work, strengthen their foundation, and continue healing while staying engaged in everyday life.

At Scottsdale Providence Recovery Center, we believe change is possible, support matters, and healing can reach every area of a person’s life. Our Evening IOP extends that mission by creating another path for adults who need care that is warm, evidence-based, and grounded in the realities of real life.
